Global approach to reporting using scorecards

Scorecards are regular, concise reports focussing on several elements which are necessary to achieve the company’s objectives. They are a numerical representation of an indicator’s progress.

The function of reporting using scorecards:

• Scorecards translate a company’s strategy and objectives into qualitative, quantifiable figures.
• Scorecards facilitate a process of continuous improvement.
• Scorecards provide a uniform common basis for discussion, which is indispensable for good communication
• Scorecards will direct employees' behaviour into the desired direction.
• Scorecards allow for the early identification of areas where things may potentially go wrong. They provide the start for targeted research into causes and consequences.
